Rev. Robert "Bob" Kuhn

     Rev. Robert “Bob” Kuhn, 89, passed away on May 22, 2022.

     Bob was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of C. Wilbur and Rose Wolfangel Kuhn. He grew up in Wauwatosa, graduating from Wauwatosa High School, now ‘Tosa East, in 1950. He attended Purdue where he played clarinet in the marching band and met his future wife, Jane. After he graduated from Purdue in 1954, he began classes at Garrett Biblical Institute in Evansville, Il, becoming an Elder in the Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist church in 1958. He and Jane were married at Jane’s home church in Mishawaka, Indiana, on September 8, 1956. Bob had pastoral appointments in Eagle, Tomahawk, Randolph-Courtland, Prairie du Chien, Brodhead, Augusta and Algoma, adopting 2 boys, Mark and Alan, along the way. He retired in Algoma, where he was active in Community Improvement of Algoma, the Algoma Main Street program, the Algoma Bird City program, the Algoma Community Band, and was a volunteer at the Algoma Visitor Center. He loved photography and presented bird picture programs for Algoma’s Bird City celebrations. He and Jane took many vacation trips to explore different parts of this country and Canada and to visit his sister in Norway.

     He is survived by sons Mark (Emma) Kuhn of Brodhead, Alan (Liz) Kuhn of Wauwatosa, and granddaughters Kateri Kuhn of Bay View and Maria Kuhn of Wauwatosa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Carol, in 2016, and his wife, Jane, in 2020.

     There will be a public visitation for Bob, Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at the Algoma United Methodist Church with Pastor Jennifer Emert officiating.  Burial to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the Algoma United Methodist Church or the City Improvement of Algoma in Bob’s memory.
