Daniel Huber Obituary

Daniel T. Huber, 59, Green Bay and formerly of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022, at his place of residence.

He was born Nov. 28, 1962 in Park Ridge, IL to Larry & Audrey (Andersen) Huber. After the family moved to Door County, Dan attended Southern Door Schools and graduated in 1980. He then attended the Milwaukee School of Art & Design where he pursued his passion for art.

Dan continued to follow his interests in artwork and music by traveling the country. He lived and worked in several locations in California before returning to Sturgeon Bay. He worked for several years at FLS Banners doing screen printing. He had a few other jobs after that, including caregiving for a variety of clients in the County. During this time, he worked and played with many of the musicians in the area, including a performance at the Third Avenue Playhouse. Dan eventually moved to Green Bay and worked at a couple call centers until the pandemic hit.
Dan loved art: drawing, painting, photography, and enjoying other people’s work. Dan taught himself to play the guitar. His ability to play impressed so many people.  Everyone seemed to love the improvised songs he often shared on the spot. You could always count on hearing his “highlight of the day” blues tune.

He is survived by his parents Larry Huber (Maplewood), Audrey (Andersen) Huber (Sturgeon Bay), sister Becky Kelsey and special friend Dan Busch (Green Bay), sister Pam Thornton (Maplewood), brother-in-law Aaron Thornton (Algoma), niece Merissa Bergman, nephews Mike Kelsey and Sam Kelsey, cousins, aunts, uncles and many, many friends.
Dan was proceeded in death by his grandparents, beloved Uncle Jeff, and his cousin Steve.

Family and friends may gather Friday, April 22, 2022 from 2:00 PM at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, until the time for sharing memories of Dan at 3:00 PM.   Burial to follow at the Town of Forestville Cemetery, Maplewood.

In Lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to St. John’s Shelter or N.E.W. Community Shelter - both in Green Bay. Both locations helped Dan on many occasions.

Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Dan may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.schinderlefuneralhome.com.
