ald Haegele Obituary

Donald (Don) Haegele, 76, Algoma met his savior on April 11, 2013 with his wife Barb by his side at St. Vincent's Hospital. He was born June 27, 1936 in the Town of Ahnapee to William and Pauline (Serrahn) Haegele. He was the second child of four in the family. Don lived 68 years of his life on the same farm he was born on. Don married Barb DeVillers on June 29, 1971 in Las Vegas. They had 41 wonderful, loving years together. Don worked at the Algoma Lumber Co. until he had to retire because of his Parkinson's Disease in 1998. Don loved helping his children, spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards, traveling with his wife Barb, but most of all cutting his lawn on his John Deere Lawn Tractor. Don is survived by his wife Barb, his two loving and devoted children, whom he was very proud of, son Jason (Nicki) Haegele and their children Leyton and Arianna; daughter Kim Haegele (John Smet); granddaughter Jennifer Haegele; one sister Dorothy Christianson, one sister-in-law Marion Haegele, father-in-law Ed DeVillers, two nephews Larry Haegele, John (Sue) Haegele and one niece Mallory (Ralph) Gartzke. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Shawn, two brothers Harold Haegele and William Haegele Jr., brothers-in-law John Christianson and Jerry DeVillers, mother-in-law Geraldine DeVillers and one niece Janice (Jan) Costley. Family and friends may gather St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, from 9 am Monday April 15, 2013 until the time of services at 11 am with Rev. John Moll officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma, with full Military Rites. Love is gentle, Love is kind We will love you Always! But we miss you Already! A very special thank you to the Algoma Rescue Squad for all their trips to help Don and to all the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital whom went above and beyond their duties to keep Don comfortable.
