William "Bill" Nicholas Wilbert

William Nicholas Wilbert passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at Door County Hospital (Hospice) in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin on May 18, 2024.  Bill grew up in Kohler, Wisconsin before graduating from UW – Whitewater in 1958 and Mr. Wilbert was a beloved high school business teacher at Algoma High for 37 years (50 years total if you include substitute teaching).
Depending on the decade you had him as a teacher he was the “Old Buck”, “Mr. Bill” or back in the day known for saying, “some of these guys!!!”
Bill is survived by his sweetheart, Marge, recently celebrating 68 years of marriage.  Our father/husband deeply touched the lives of his five children along with 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Elizabeth and one brother Warren.  Without a doubt, Bill’s priorities were his faith in a loving God, his beloved Marge & family and his ‘life calling’ to teach along with his service to his church.  Bill walked the talk and lived his life with humor, humility, patience and compassion. 
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s, Lutheran Church on May 22.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 to 12:00, celebration of dad’s life will be at 12:00 PM, followed by a luncheon at St. John’s.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorials which will be designated to the Parkinson’s Foundation, St. John’s Lutheran Church and scholarships for Algoma HS graduates.
A special heartfelt thanks to the Algoma Fire & Rescue squad for all they did to assist our family when they were called to get dad safely to the hospital.
