William John Laes

William John Laes, 55, Algoma, passed away, Sunday July 14, 2024, as a result of an aortic dissection.

He was born February 21, 1969, in Green Bay to Carlton and Doris (Benzow) Laes.  William graduated from the Algoma High School in 1988.  He worked at various places, with his current job being at the Algoma Net Company.

William enjoyed motorcycling on his KTM bike, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, taking care of the Holub Homestead and spending time with friends and family.  He enjoyed his time at the gun club.

William is survived by his son Christian, his siblings, Carl, Frank, Lily (Rick) Krueger and Christina (Chris) Massart; many nieces and nephews; his close friends Joe (Deb) Mineau, Mike (Sarah) Zimmer, Matt Swoboda and Austin Pleau; his work family and other relatives and friends.   

He was preceded in death by his mom and stepdad Doris (Tom) Holub, his dad Carlton Laes, Sr., great niece Olivia Krueger and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Family and friends will gather at the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 1:00 PM until the time of services at 5:00 PM with Pastor Carl Brewer officiating.
