On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, Sandra Blahnik shed the chains of her earthly body and ran into the arms of her Savior, Jesus. Sandra died peacefully at Anna’s House in New Franken which was her home for the last 20 years. She was born September 21,1940 in Algoma to Anthony J. and Lois (Zastrow) Blahnik. She lived most of her life in rural Algoma on the family farm that she dearly loved. She worked at the Curative (Workshop) Connections in Green Bay and at East Shore Industries in Algoma. Sandra’s family was very important to her including the family she shared her life with at Anna’s House. She loved Jesus, and for more than half her life, shared that love with everyone she met.
She is survived by her sisters: Kay (Ace) Schmidt, Maplewod, Toni (Randy) Massart, Forestville and Becky (William) Hann, Fort Atkinson and her brother Tom, Algoma, more than 55 nieces, nephews, and greats. She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony J. and Lois Blahnik; sister Mary Jo Laurent, brother Joe Blahnik, brothers-in-law Anthony Laurent and Richard Zajac.
Friends may call at the Schinderle Funeral Home in Algoma, Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 1:30 - 2:30 PM. The services will follow at 2:30 PM with Pastor Alex Blahnik officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Anna’s House for their wonderful care, even more for their friendship. They would also like to thank Unity Hospice for their skill and compassion during Sandra’s final days.
