Rufus R. Sibilsky, 98, Algoma, passed away Tues. Feb. 27, 2018 at Bellin Hospital.
He was born Feb. 5, 1920 in the Township of Ahnapee to Herman and Matilda (Dreher) Sibilsky.Rufus graduated St. Paul's Grade School. As a young man he helped his father who owned a cheese factory for many years.
He entered the US Army after his honorable discharge he came back to Algoma, where he worked at the US Plywood / Algoma Hardwoods for 47 years.
Rufus married Marlene Felhofer June 6, 1959 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Valmy.
Rufus enjoyed his precious time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of his nieces and nephews. He loved playing cards, shooting dartball and bowling.
Rufus is survived by his wife, Marlene, two sons Robert Sibilsky, Algoma; and Kevin (Janice) Sibilsky, Luxemburg; and one daughter Linda (Barry) Fenendael, Algoma; one grandson Quin Fenendael, two step grandchildren Bryan (Liz) Anderson and Bradley (Tabetha) Anderson; three step great grandchildren Wyatt, Lilian and Temperence; one sister-in-law Dorothy Harmann-Ash, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Edna Sibilsky, one brother and sister-in-law Roland (Luella) Sibilsky, three brothers-in-law Russell Felhofer, Glenn Harmann and Virgil Ash and one nephew Bruce Sibilsky.
Family and friends may gather at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, from 9:00 AM, Saturday, March 3, 2018 until the time of services at 11:00 AM, with Rev Joel McKenney and Rev. John Moll officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.
