Ruben Frank Walter

Ruben F. Walter, 67, Algoma passed away December 7, 2013 at home with family and friends at his side. He was born October 19, 1946 in Algoma to Harvey H. and Bernice E. (Vandertie) Walter. He graduated from Southern Door High School in 1965. Ruben loved pictures, Christmas ornaments. He loved playing UNO, Trouble, and Checkers. Family was everything to him. He enjoyed making scarfs, fixing hair, decorating windows and the tree with lights at Christmas. He worked at many places including Calumet , Algoma Hardwoods and Algoma Development Center. Ruben was survived by brothers Roger (Ann) Walter, Sister- in- law Gail Walter, Steve (Vickie) Walter. He has 18 nieces and nephews and 33 Great nieces and nephews. His Aunts and Uncles; Wilber Vandertie, Laverne Bretl, Marian Tanck, Millie (Walter) Denil, Jeanette (Algie) Fenendael, Shirley Vandertie (Norbert LaCrosse) and Judy Vandertie He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey H. Walter, Bernice E. Walter, his brother Gerald L. Walter, and his grand- parents Frank and Emily (Rankin) Vandertie, Bill and Martha Walter . Aunts and Uncles Richard (Rose) Vandertie; Raymond Vandertie; Laverne Vandertie; Norbert Bretl; Norbert (Kathleen) Vandertie; Bob Tank; Alvin Vandertie, Roy Vandertie and two infant uncles. Special Thank you to Unity and to Steve and Vickie Walter they were outstanding in caring for him. Friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma from, 4 - 8 PM, Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 and after 10 AM, Thursday at Lakeside Community Church, Algoma, until time of services at 11 AM with Pastor Chris Jarrell officiating.
