Randall Duerst Obituary

Randall Dean Duerst, 64, Algoma, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 after a massive stroke at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit. He was born in Berlin, New Hampshire to Edward and Gloria (Wight) Duerst. As a young man his family lived in Colorado, Hawaii, France and North Carolina. His dad was in the service. The family settled in Algoma in 1966. He graduated from the Algoma High School and worked at the Algoma Hardwoods, Emerson, and NEW Industries in Sturgeon Bay. He retired due to ill health.Randy married Mavis Haucke on May 15, 1976 at the Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church. Randy is survived by his wife Mavis, one daughter Randi Lynn (Dan) Petrina, Sturgeon Bay; and one son Troy Dean (Kara) Duerst, Neenah; five grandchildren Brandon, Shawn, Abby, Lily and Jacob; one sister Sherry (Dale) Hanson, Forestville; one brother Edward (Lisa) Duerst, Jr., Algoma; two brothers-in-law Miles (Janice) Haucke and Dennis (Nancy) Haucke and one sister-in-law Jean Haucke all of Algoma; much loved nieces and nephews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Peter and John and brothers-in-law Howard (Ruth) Haucke and Wayne (Butch) Haucke.Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 and after 10 a.m. Monday at the Tanum - Forest Ev. Lutheran Church in Vignas until time of services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gary Stangland officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma.The family wants to give a special thank you to Davita Dialysis Center and staff, Aurora Hospital and staff, the Algoma Long Term Care Unit and staff the Golden Living Center and staff for all their care and kindness given to Randy.Family and friends may sign the online guest book at www.schinderle.com
