Patricia Lohrey Brooks

Patricia (Lohrey) Brooks, 87, Algoma, passed away at home on September 7, 2014. She was born on March 17, 1927 in Algoma to Erwin and Marion (Perry) Lohrey. She graduated from the Algoma High School in 1944 and from Carroll College in 1948. She later attended the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Patricia married Julian Brooks in California and raised a family of four children. She became involved in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, worked tirelessly in her local PTA and enjoyed watching the bluebirds. Patricia and Julian were members of the San Gabriel Fine Arts Association. In 1993 she retired from Sievers Market Research in San Marino, CA and moved home to Algoma. Over the years Patricia was active in Algoma Library Friends, Silk Purse Club, the Sweater makers, Violence Intervention Project and was an original member of the Community Improvement of Algoma. She enjoyed attending rodeos, horse racing at Santa Anita Racetrack and watching bull riding.Patricia is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Marion B. Regter, Algoma; and Kathryn B. and Danny Treadway, Covina, CA; two sons William W. Brooks, Algoma and Michael J. Brooks, Algoma; two grandsons Nicholas A. Regter, Stafford, TX; Cody E. Treadway, Covina, CA; and the family's special friend Jeanie O' Brien.Patricia's family would like to express their gratitude to Unity Hospice for their outstanding care and support.
