The internal strength and persistence to accomplish goals stuck with her.She worked at Red Owl, Algoma Net, Plumber's Woodwork and Kaukauna Cheese. Besides her favorite roles of wife, mother, grandma and cook and seamstress extraordinare, she enjoyed her job at St. Paul's Lutheran School as a teacher's aide and was thrilled to know that her grandson was following in her footsteps to become a teacher. She married Harold "Pete" Mueller on April 15th, 1939. They lived in Algoma for most of their lives with a few years in Kaukauna, WI. No one left any of our family meals hungry and you often left with food to take home. She earned the nickname of Grandma Cookie bestowed up her by her grandchildren and extended Curtin family and friends. She was a storyteller and loved books and reading to her grandchildren. She would quiz them on nursery rhymes and the names of their fingers in Norwegian which she learned from her brother-in-law Vic.
