Minerva 'Minnie' Holsbach, 90, Algoma, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit. She was born Nov. 20, 1925 in Thiry Daems to John and Harriet (Frisque) Ferron. Minnie married Clarence (Butch) Laurent July 27, 1946. The couple were than blessed with two children. Clarence preceded her in death June 27, 1960.Minnie worked at various places, but she worked last in the kitchen up at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit for many years.Minnie was the 1964 Green Bay Press Gazette Women Bowling Champion, Charter member of the V.F.W. Auxillary number 7152, member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosary Society, the New Life Choir, Algoma Medical Center, and she was very proud of being in the Algoma Community Band playing her French Horn. Minnie was Algoma's biggest fan never missing any of the boys or girls basketball games.Minnie married Theodore Holsbach April 12, 1969. He also preceded her in death.She is survivied by her two children Timothy (Alice) Laurent, Florida; daughter Adele Laurent, Algoma; four grandchildren Mason (Holly) Thibodeau, Elizabeth (James) Klein, Julie Laurent and Christopher Laurent; and six great grandchildren. She was further preceded in death by her parents, one brother Harold Ferron and one sister Eleanor Zellner.Family and friends may gather at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma, from 9 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am with Rev.
