Michael "Mike" Tahlier Obituary

Michael “Mike” Tahlier, 71, Algoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 8th, 2025. He was born on February 24th, 1954, to the late Donna (Draheim) and Gerald Tahlier in Green Bay.

Mike attended Southern Door High School and then joined the Army. After, he started working at Plumber’s Woodworking and then Bay Shipbuilding as a welder. Mike and his brothers ran a successful drywall and painting business for many years. He continued his career working at H.J. Martin and Sons as a Lead Foreman traveling the country.
Upon Mike's retirement he spent his free time in his garage making furniture, knives and horseshoe art for others. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially if it involved playing cards, watching the Packer game, or throwing horseshoes. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, found fulfillment in his faith at Lakeside Community Church, and was the president of the local chapter of The Christian Motorcycle Association. On a beautiful day Mike would be riding his Harley getting wind therapy with his wife of 32 years.

Mike and Michele joined hands in marriage on June 19th, 1993, with their families by their side. Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife Michele, his two daughters Jessie (Kenny) Malcore and Michelle “Mickie” (David) Bouche; bonus children Bryan (Nancy) Duerst, Anne (Devon) Allen, Christin Engleking, and April (Howard) Lucas; grandchildren Michael, Bailey, Bree, Cherity (Steve), Sarah, Craig Jr., Rayanne, Justice, William, Anton, Richard, and Jordon; great-grandchildren Dylan, Avalyn, Abel, Deziray, Annaray, Matthew, Oleana, Otto, Redlee, Atticus, Hunter, Baylen, Deringer, and Liam. He is also survived by his siblings Luann Kellner, Peggy Tahlier, Jerry (Lisa) Tahlier, Duane (Julie) Tahlier; in-laws Marie (Dick) Stuebs, Marilyn LaViolette, Monica Larson, Madonna (Bernie) VandenAvond, Melinda Thor, Tim (Brenda) Duerst, Margie (Larry) Kadletz, and Tom (Teresa) Duerst as well as many other family members and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Milton and Doris Duerst; brothers-in-law Brian Kellner and Fred Thor; and great granddaughter Oaklee Engelking.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Bellin ICU and Cardiac Teams, as well as Dr. Jaslowski and the nursing staff at Green Bay Oncology for their compassion and exceptional care.
