Mary A. Pichette, Algoma, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015. The daughter of Emil and Margaret (Pfister) Spaid was born August 15, 1923 in Door County. She attended local elementary schools and graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School. On September 29, 1948 she married Elroy Pichette at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Maplewood. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1999. Mary was employed by the US Plywood, Algoma Lumber Company and for many years she assisted her husband in his electrical service business until they both retired.Mary contributed many volunteer hours at her beloved St. Mary Parish, as well as the Medical Center and St. Vincent DePaul store. She was a member of the Rosary Society, a choir member, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and the American Legion Auxiliary of Forestville, WI. For m;any years Mary led the Rosary before Mass at St. Mary church. In their younger years, Mary and Elroy enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing. In her later years Mary enjoyed card playing, reading and working in her flower garden.Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Elton and Jeanette Spaid, Sturgeon Bay; sisters-in-law Ruby Pichette and Rose Pichette, and brother and sister-in-law Ray and Jeanette Watermolen. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Merlin, and a sister and brother-in-law Marge and Roger Brauer, as well as one niece Mary Brauer. Also preceded by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Harvey and Kathleen Pfister, Edward and Sharon Pichette, Don and Margaret Tybek, Raymond and Judy Pichette and Thomas Pichette.Friends and relatives may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 and after 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Swichtenberg and Deacon Chuck Agnew officiating. Prayer service 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastoral Minister Kathy Zeman.
