Mary Duider Obituary

Mary M. Duider, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 19, 2012. She was born on September 26, 1920, to Mariano and Mary Grace (Raichussa) LaBianco in Chicago, lllinois. On January 30, 1954, Mary married Edward H. Duider in Chicago. Together, Mary and Edward raised two girls, Rosemary and Mary Ann. As a stay-at-home mom, Mary always remained busy. She enjoyed volunteering as a Girl Scout leader, cooking delicious ltalian meals, and sewing many of her own clothes as well as for her daughters and husband. After Edward passed away on August 11, t979, Mary began working at the First National Bank in Chicago. ln retirement, Mary was a full-time grandma who enthusiastically attended countless concerts, sporting events, graduations, and a wedding. Of course, she continued cooking ltalian favorites and lending her sewing talents, including Halloween costumes. Mary also led an active social life. She loved dancing, playing penny slots at the casino, and traveling. She went on many trips, but was thrilled to be able to finally visit ltaly for ten days this summer. Mary was a loving, vibrant woman who above all valued her family her faith, and her friends. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Rosemary (Frederick) Hansen, Clay Banks, Wl, Mary Ann (Patrick) Mclnerney, Sturgeon Bay, Wl; five grandchildren, Edward Hansen, Sycamore, lL, Amy (Michael) Sullivan, Sturgeon Bay, Wl, Quinn, Clare, and James Mclnerney, Sturgeon Bay, Wl;and her brother, Anthony LaBianco, Oak Lawn, lL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her sisters, Ann Dunn, RoseMarie Malmrose; her niece, Diana Crue; and her nephew, Robert Duider. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 23, at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church 2825 W. 81st St. in Chicago. Visitation will begin at 9:15 a.m., followed by mass at 10:00. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery 87th Street & Hamlin Ave. in Evergreen Park, lL 60805. Special thanks go to Mary's therapists and nurses at the Golden Living Center-Dorchester nursing facility for the help and support they gave Mary and her family after she suffered a stroke on September 4, 2012. Additional thanks go to all of Mary's visitors over the last few weeks, and to all of the friends and family who have offered their love and support.
