Marion 'Tootie' Romdenne, 90, Algoma, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 with her family at her side. She was born Feb. 22, 1925 in Kewaunee to Frank and Ella (Bucholz) Novak. Tootie worked for many years at Katch's Department Store in Algoma as a sales clerk and then later in life she worked at WS Packaging in Algoma.Tootie married Vince Romdenne in Algoma on August 10, 1946. They were blessed with five sons. She was a member of St. Mary Parish. Tootie enjoyed her precious time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would always support them in all of their sporting events in grade school and high school. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, ceramics with her sister Pearl and making hats. She always looked forward to Christmas which was her favorite time of year. She would always put up her Christmas Village in her home for everyone to see.Tootie is survived by her five sons, Tom (Kathy), Bruce (Becky), Mike (Jo), all of Algoma; Rick (Chris), Argyle, Wis; and Keith, Algoma; 13 grandchildren Andy (Tamara) Romdenne, Ben Romdenne (Jo Jo), Mindy (Tom) Sonnentag, Abby (Jeremy) Piesler, Jennifer (Jason) Brungraber, Carrie (AJ) Hansen, Curt (Amber) Romdenne, Kelli (Jamie) Spitzer, Jami (Corie) Zimmerman, Emily, Natalie, Claire and Rachel Romdenne; 11 great grandchildren Max, Mason, Alli, Chloie, Sydney, Carter, Ryley, Chase, Kallie, Easton, Scarlett, Kolton and Paycen; two sisters-in-law Norma Hlinak and Ardie Novak special niece and nephew Gary (Judy) Delorit and Cheryl Schmidt (Ed). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vince, two brothers Bob Novak and Roy Novak and one sister Pearl Delorit; and other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 118 Church St., Algoma, from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday March 2, 2015 and after 9 a.m. Tuesday with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Anthony Birdsall officiating. Prayer service 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
