Marie Purdy

Marie Ann Purdy, 57, Algoma, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 2, 1953 in Ames, Iowa to Alfred and Zora(Patten) Pullin. Marie stayed in Iowa until 1978 where she moved to Seymour, WI and operated a farm with her husband. In 1981 they moved to the Algoma area where they again operated a farm. Marie also worked out as a clerk for the Clarke Gas Station in Algoma for 25 years. After it was sold she worked at the gas station in Casco until she had to leave because of her health. Marie cherished the time she had with her six grandchildren. They were the love of her life. She was an avid reader of political issues and watched Glenn Beck religiously. She enjoyed watching Johnny Depp movies. Marie is survived by her five children, Amanda (Mark) May, Algoma; Melissa (John) Massart, Sturgeon Bay; Danny Purdy, Algoma; Merville Purdy, Algoma; and Alison (Heath) Ruetten, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Damien, Dustin and Cody May and Stephany, Alexis and Samantha Massart; her mother Zora (Ron) Milne, Waterloo, Iowa; two brothers, Larry Pullin, Iowa and Marty (Nicole) Pullin, Brooklyn, Wis.; three sisters, Gail Bellis and Kathy Pullin, both of Iowa; and Barb Pullin, Denver, CO.; two nieces, Krystal (Curt) Meggers and their son Alex and Katie Bellis and one nephew Joe Bellis, all of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred and one sister-in-law Patti Pullin. Friends may gather at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma from 4 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 until the Memorial Service at 7 p.m. with Elder Mark Dhuey from the Country Bible Church officiating.
