Marie Frances (Wessel) Bowerman

Marie F. Bowerman, 76, Algoma, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Unity Hospice Residence in DePere,  after a six-month battle with her illness.   She was born July 25, 1946, in Algoma to the late Norman and Evelyn (Bosdeck) Wessel.  
Marie graduated from Algoma High School in 1965.  After a brief stint on her uncle's farm, she enrolled in Cosmetology school in Green Bay.  She was hired by Wilmer Drab in 1974 to work at the Flora Lee Beauty Shop. Not long after she was there, she was added to Lorraine's Beauty Shop in Kewaunee.  She worked at both shops for over 45 years.  She would take care of clients at the local nursing home, assisted living facilities and funeral homes.  She helped out wherever needed.
Marie married Franklin Bowerman August 16, 1980 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma.  She was a lifelong member of the church.
Marie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Frank, daughter Monica (Keith) Peterson, MN; stepsister Shirley Simon, Sturgeon Bay; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lawrence, stepsister Sharon Neuzil, nephew Henry Wessel and Aunt Regina Wessel.
Family and friends may gather at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM with Rev Joel McKenney and Rev. John Moll officiating.  Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.
