Margaret "Marge" Lydia (Schulz) Wilbert passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at Autumn's Journey in Algoma, Wisconsin on May 8, 2026. Marge was born and raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and married to Bill in 1956. The couple then moved to UW Whitewater and then to Algoma where Marge made a loving home for Bill and their five children.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, Walter and Hilda, and her sisters, Beatrice and Marion and one brother, baby Carl. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor, and her five children, Julie, Mike, Lori, Kim, and Matt, along with 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Marge was employed at the Algoma Utility Commission for over 20 years and loved meeting people and working outside the home. Each of her children noted her strong faith, her sense of mission to help others and her very intentional involvement in their lives. In other words, nothing got past Mom! Marge loved singing hymns and was in the choir for over 40 years while Bill directed the choir.
Marge had a keen sense of humor, a strong will, and empathy for those in need which she instilled in each of her children.
In Marge’s retirement years with Bill they enjoyed traveling the United States, planting flower and vegetable gardens each year, and bird watching. She was an avid puzzle builder and reader and regular visitor to the library.
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s, Lutheran Church on May 23.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 to 11:30, celebration of Marge’s life will be at 11:30 AM, followed by a luncheon at St. John’s.
