Margaret Schwedler Obituary

One jazzy lady, Margaret Mary Schwedler went to the Lord on May 14, 2012, Algoma, and was reunited with the love of her life 'Looy'. Marge was born June 25, 1925 in Algoma to John and Matilda (Thayse) Stade. Marge graduated from the Algoma High School in 1943 andgraduated fromthe Holy Family School of Nursing in 1946. She worked at the Algoma Memorial Hospital until it closed and then worked part time at the Kewaunee Health Care Center until the age of 72. Marge was so proud that her granddaughter choose to become a nurse to follow in her footsteps. Marge married her high school sweetheart Louis 'Looy' Schwedler on May 3, 1947 and were blessed with five children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Marge was very active in the Algoma Ladies Golf League, Community Band, St. Mary Church choir and Rosary Society, a volunteer for the Bloodmobile, playing Bridge and was a former member of the Algoma Optimist Club. Marge is survived by her five children Mary (Mike) Mura, Fayetteville, NC; Linda (Dennis) Andre, Algoma; Bob (Denise) Schwedler, Coleman; Martha (Mike) Flanary Kissimmee, FL; and Peter (Josie) Schwedler, Houston, TX; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one sister Susan Davis (Don) Mitchell, Palatine, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband 'Looy', August 18,1984, one sister Joan Kemp and two brothers-in-law Glen Kemp and Richard Davis. Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma from 4 - 8 p.m. on Sunday May 20, 2012 and after 10 am Monday May 21, at St. Mary Catholic Church until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. with Rev. Msgr. James Dillenburg officiating. Prayer service 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma. The family want to thank the wonderful staff at Bay Road Place and Algoma LTC for all the kindness and care given to Marge during her stay at both places.
