Lloyd R. "Dick" Jorgensen, 89, Casco, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at home with his family at his side.
He was born June 19, 1933, in Two Creeks, WI to the late Lloyd and Marcella (Hanek) Jorgensen. Lloyd graduated from Mishicot High School and entered the US Air Force from 1952 to 1956, where he served in Canada, Colorado and Alaska for four years. He was awarded Outstanding Airman in 1955. After his discharge he came back to the Kewaunee area where he worked at Leyse's in Kewaunee for a few years, then he was a custodian for the Kewaunee schools for 31 years.
Lloyd married Janice LeGreve April 26, 1958, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma.
As a young man he enjoyed canning with his mother. Lloyd also enjoyed working outside including cutting his lawn, gardening and helping his son, Rick on the farm.
He is survived by his two children, Rick (Denise) Jorgensen, Casco and Lori Schiltz, Wauwatosa; four grandchildren Jill and Alexandria Jorgensen and Josh and Nick Schiltz; two brothers Alan (Diane) Jorgensen and Sid (Judy) Jorgensen, one sister Sandy (Glenn) Gigstead, sister-in-law Carol Jorgensen; brother-in-law Bernie (Marge) LeGreve; many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Janice on November 8, 2020, son-in-law Mike Schiltz, one sister Nancy and three brothers Hilbert, Harvey and Alvin.
There will be a memorial gathering, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Kewaunee, from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM with Rev. Matthew Sprunger officiating. Burial will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma with full military honors.
