Leona Adeline Schley

Leona Schley, 96, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2016 at Ledgeview Nursing Home. She was born November 18, 1919, the daughter of John and Adeline Schulties.Leona married Marvin Schley in June, 1940. They owned and operated a dairy farm in Kewaunee County for 35 years, retiring in 1975, when they moved to a home in Forestville. After Marvin died in 1978, Leona spent her time enjoying her garden, playing cards with her friends, quilting, traveling, helping with the Ladies Aid in her church, and riding motorcycles with her sons. She remained in her home until Macular Degeneration forced her to move to an assisted living arrangement.Even though her eyesight had failed her, she always maintained a positive attitude, taking enjoyment from the smallest things, especially the Milwaukee Brewers. She remained a loyal fan over the years, no matter how badly the team was doing.Leona is survived by four sons, Paul (Karen), William, David, and Joel; Eight grandchildren, Eric (Heather), Robbyn (Amit), Amy Leone (Chuck), Maggie (Stephen), Nathan (Krista), Nicole (George), Alex and Kelsey (Andrew); eleven great grandchildren, Alec, Hannah Leona, Maeghan, Adeline, Lucie, Ida Red, Otis, Audrie, Aiden, Cayden, and Liam; two sisters Edna and Mildred. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, two sisters, Licille and Ruby and two brothers, Elton and Leonard.Family and friends may visit at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Forestville, Friday, March 18, 2016 from 10 am until the services at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Christopher Jackson officiating. Interment will be at the Elton J.
