Lenny J. (Skinner) Willems, Jr

Lenny Willems Jr. (Skinner), 70, Algoma, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 25, 2016 after a massive stroke. He was born July 9, 1945 in Algoma to Leonard and Doris (DeGrave) Willems. Lenny graduated from the Algoma High School. He worked a few jobs before his 35 year career with the Kewaunee County Highway Department. While working for the Highway Department, he also established the Willems Carpentry Business in 1970.Lenny enjoyed all of his precious time with his children and grandchildren. He attended all of the grandchildren's events. He was known for all of his money handshakes with the grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing and playing cuyoo. He was known for his infectious smile, hearty laugh, kindness, and those beautiful baby blue eyes.Lenny is survived by his special friend of 20 years, Janet Juedes; his three children Scott (Terri), Luxemburg; Shaun (Nikki), Casco; and Tavia (Joe) Vincent, Luxemburg; six grandchildren Cody, Tiana, Caleb, Bradyn, Caitlin and Trey; the mother of Lenny's children Beverly; his six siblings Elmer Willems, Jule (Grier) Willems, Diane (Jim) Martin, Jim (Wendy) Willems, Dora (John) Meyer and Suzy Wians; his Godchildren Peggy and Kim; many nieces and nephews; and Lenny's extended family with Janet's children Joy Padgett, Chad (Toni) Juedes, Shane Juedes (Sarah) and all of their children; Bob (Jackie) Fameree, Pat Flippo and Jan Swoboda.Lenny was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Dolores, Norbert, Darell and Bernie; John (Myrtle) Swoboda, Barb Willems, Gary Swoboda and Victor Flippo.Family and friends may gather at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma from 2 PM - 8 PM, Thursday March 31, 2016. Service at 8 PM with Rev.
