LaVerne Brusky Obituary

LaVerne L. Brusky, 88, Algoma, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 at Cardinal Ridge in Sturgeon Bay after a short stay there. She was born in the Town of Carlton on Feb. 23, 1923 to William and Ernestine (Seman) Brandt. LaVerne married Raymond Brusky March 26, 1940 in Kewaunee. The couple owned and operator a farm in Mishicot until it was destroyed by a fire. The couple ran the Ray and LaVerne's Bar in Luxemburg for a short time, before moving to Algoma. LaVerne worked as a seamstress for the Algoma Net Co. for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church from 1950 until the present. LaVerne was an avid card player. LaVerne is survived by her son William (Jackie) Brusky, daughter-in-law Pam Brusky, three grandchildren Chris Brusky, Brian (Tammy) Brusky and Angie (Josiah) Brusky; two great grandchidlren Jaeger and Rex Brusky; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond on Oct. 11, 2003, infant son Ralph and her son Kenneth on March 30, 2011, three brothers, one sister, 10 sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. Family and friends may call at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hwy 42, Algoma from 9 am, Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 until the time of services at 11 am with Rev. Tom Moldenhauer officiating.
