Kenneth Seiler Obituary

Kenneth F. Seiler, 86 Forestville, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Bellin Hospital. Kenneth was born April 23, 1929 to Marie C. (Tlachac) and Joseph L. Seiler in Forestville WI. He attended the Forestville school, then graduated from Algoma High School two years later. Ken completed the Agricultural Short Course program in Madison WI after which he married Veronica Elizabeth (Stoller) in 1955. He lived most of his life in Forestville where with Veronica, they raised 10 children and operated the family dairy farm after his father retired. The farm was homesteaded by Kenneth's grandfather in the later 1800's.Kenneth was proud to have served in the US Army from Jan. 4, 1951 to Dec. 27, 1952. He was a Korean War Veteran and shared a few stories with his children about his time in the Army. He recently participated in the Honor Glory Flight to Washington DC. Being always humble, he thought the Honor Glory Flight activities were special (and a bit of a fuss) that so many people did so much just to say thank you for something so long ago.Kenneth loved going out dancing and could tell anyone where to find the local dance halls and which bands he saw play there and if the dance floor was nice. He loved the local area and would narrate every drive through the countryside recalling who lived in which house and where it stood even after the original homesteads were long since tumbled down. He traveled to Europe with Veronica several times but his life-long joy was farming the land with his children. Through farming, he instilled a hard working ethic in his children and taught his children great humility by his own tireless sacrifices he made as a father and farmer.Visitation will take place from 4pm to 8pm, Sunday, December 27 at SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME in Algoma, WI.
