Kenneth Breitlow Obituary

Kenneth E. Breitlow, 69, Kewaunee, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 at Bellin Hospital. He was born may 14, 1942 in Algoma to Erwin H. and Gertrude H. (Dettmann) Breitlow. Kenny was baptized June 7, 1942, confirmed June 24, 1956 and his confirmation verse was, Psalm 27:1. In Kennny's early years he lived on the family farm and was educated at Rio Creek, Longfellow, Alaska, and Algoma Public grade schools. Ken graduated from the Algoma High School and auto mechanics of Green Bay Vocational. He furthered his education with truck driver (semi) training, various service schools for White and Allis Chalmers farm equipment and the Industrial forklift apprenticeship program at NWTC, Green Bay. Kenny worked for Green Bay canning; Wallace Vandenhouten Trucking; Rio Creek co-op Cheese Co.; trucking milk and cheese; Bretl's (Door Trucking) Maplewood; and Schneider Transport, Green Bay; Walter's Agri-center, Rio Creek; Kewaunee Engineering; Algoma Hardwoods, Mike Sevcik (S Express), Kewaunee; and Pott's Transport, Denmark. He purchased a new century Freight liner on Sept. 27, 1999, leasing out his services to Potts Transport. He served eight years in the Army Reserves as a cook and farmed 15 years in the Township of Pierce. Kenny married Mary Ellen DeGrave in 1987 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rankin. Kenny is survived by his wife Mary Ellen, Kewaunee, one son Aaron (Fiancee' Nicole) Breitlow, Kewaunee, three daughters Carmon Breitlow, Port Washington; Laura (Brian) Kennedy, Forestville; and Polly Golwitzer, Forestville; six grandchildren Sophie, Phoebe, Heath and Josie Kennedy; and Hans and Elizabeth Golwitzer; sister-in-law Cheryl Breitlow, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Donald and one sister and brother-in-law Marlene (Conrad) Schlaefer. Family and friends may call at the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma from 4 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011 and after 10 a.m. Friday October 14, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rankin until the time of services at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Neugebauer officiating. Prayer service 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in the church cemetery with full military rites.
