June Bancroft, 89, Algoma, died Thursday August 16, 2012 at home with her family at her side. She was born June 11, 1923 in Toledo Ohio to Edwin and Dorothy (Duce) Gloyd. As a young girl she moved to Milwaukee with her dad and graduated from a Milwaukee High School. June married Jack Bancroft in Milwaukee in 1942. Jack was in the military so June lived on the barracks in Florida where Jack was stationed. They moved back to Milwaukee where June was a stay at home mom taking care of her children. June loved children and she touched many of them with her kindness. She had been a member of the Homemakers Club, Women's Club and was very active with the Girl Scouts and 4-H. June is survived by her four children Nancy (Lee) Clasen, Shawano; Robert Bancroft, Denver, CO; Melanie Willey, Green Bay; Janice (Dennis) Duensing, Oak Creek; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, three infant children Katherine, William and Brian, two grandchildren and two brothers Edson and Raymond Gloyd. Family and friends may gather at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma on Friday, Aug 24, 2012 from 11 am until the time of services at 12 p.m. with Rev. Anthony Birdsall officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made out to Unity Limited Partnership and sent to 2366 Oak Ridge Circle, DePere, WI 54115 in memory of June Bancroft.
