Joseph (Joe) Burmeister, 62, Algoma, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. He was born March 5, 1952 in Kewaunee to Harlsworth and Rosemary (Gotstein) Burmeister. Joe graduated from the Algoma High School in 1971.Joe married Linda Ledvina in Pilson on July 12, 1975 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 1988. Joe was in the grocery business his whole life. He was an avid brewer fan, enjoyed golfing, playing cards of all kinds, shooting pool, bowling and in his career he had seven 300 games with him being the first one in Algoma, and was a Packer fan. His proudest moment was walking his daughter Mandy down the isle the day of her wedding. Joe cherished the precious time that he spent with his grandchildren.Joe married Cami Ostrand Sept. 28, 1996 at the Tanum-Forest Church.Joe is survived by his wife Cami, one son Brian Burmeister, Luxemburg; and two daughters Melissa Burmeister, Sturgeon Bay and Mandy (Keith) Deschaine, Oshkosh; three grandchildren Madison, Mason and Zachary Joseph; one brother Larry (Shirley) Burmeister, Green Bay; one sister Lenore (Blackie) Deprey, Algoma; one step brother Richard (Mary Ann) Melotte, Algoma; and his mother-in-law Ann Ostrand, Sturgeon Bay and his mountain lion 'Whitney'. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Linda, his first father and mother-in-law Milos (Grace) Ledvina, his second father-in-law Russell Ostrand and his brother-in-law Rodney Ostrand.Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma from 3 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014 until the time of services at 6 p.m. with Pastoral Minister Kathy Zeman officiating.
