Jenita Marion Mullen

Jenita M. Mullen, 84, Hanover Park, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at St.Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates, IL. Jenita was born September 11, 1936 in Algoma to Harold and Evelyn (Oenes) DeJardine as the third of four children. Jenita married Robert Mullen on June 18, 1955 and was married for 47 years.   Jenita retired from Schaumburg High School, Schaumburg, IL,  after working there for 19 years.  She worked as the Head Baker, Head Cook and promoted her career to an Assistant Manager in the school cafeteria before retiring.  She enjoyed gardening, ‘glamping' a more glamourous way of camping with Bob at their place in Woodhaven Lakes, feeding squirrels endless amounts of peanuts, completing hundreds of puzzles and the holidays with her family and loved ones during retirement. Jenita was survived by her sister, Mavis (Larry) Hoover, three children - Steve (Marybeth) Mullen, Todd (Pat) Mullen and Jenelle Kozie; 9 grandchildren - Alisha (Lincoln) Langos, Shawn Mullen, Keith (Angel) Mullen, Travis Mullen, Margo (Marco) Demma and Troy Kozie; 10 great-grandchildren - Christian, Lilly, Landon and Elora Langos, Madison Mullen, Gertrude, Evelyn and Atticus Mullen, Alexander and Parker Demma; and her four canine grandchildren Hammer and Lenny, Maelyn and Jax. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Mullen, her sister Haroldean Uecker and brother Gerald DeJardine. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 11:00-1:00 PM at SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, at 1600 Schinderle Lane, Algoma, WI 54201.  A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM with Minister, Gloria Butler officiating.  SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, was entrusted with assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences can be expressed at www.schinderle.com.  Donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America at www.dementiasociety.org by clicking on the Donate Online button or a Memorial Tree in celebration of Jenita M.
