Jean Marie Kostichka, 53, Maplewood, died Tuesday May 15, 2012 after a 14 year courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 3, 1959 in Green Bay to Richard J. and Imelda Joan (Schott) Bertrand. Jean married Daniel Kostichka on October 4, 1980. Jean enjoyed the time she spent with her family, reading, counted crosstitching and taking pictures. She is survived by her husband Dan, one son Erik, her parents Richard and Joan, her twin sister Jane LeCloux, sisters Diane and Bob Cornish and Karen and David Wenninger; four brothers Mark, Dale and Jill, Michael and Tracy and Paul and friend Shelby Davister; mother-in-law Ruby Kostichka, one brother-in-law Tom and Mary Kostichka, three sisters-in-law Judy and Russ Charles, Gail Herlache and friend Bill and Sandy Finnel, many nieces and nephews. Jean is finally able to hold her daughter Callie Jean in Heaven who died in 1998, she is also preceded in death by her grandparents Theodore K. and Florence (Laundrie) Schott and Henry and Laura (DeBeck) Bertrand, father-in-law Melvin Kostichka and brothers-in-law Larry herlache and Ron Finnel. Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 and then after 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. with Rev. Carl Schmitt and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Prayer service 7:30 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home with Deacon Paul. Burial in Holy Name of Mary Cemetery.
