Jay F. Blomquist; 80, Union Electrician, OutdoorsmanJay F. Blomquist, 80 of Kewaunee WI, passed away on Thursday September 1, 2016 at the Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee WIBorn February, 9th 1936 in Milaca Minnesota; Jay grew up on a farm in Bock MN, graduating from Milaca High School with the class of 1953 where he lettered in football and baseball. In 1964 Jay married Dee Anna Bodin of Mora MN and in 1967 they moved to Kewaunee for work and to raise their three children. They started a farming operation near Casco WI in 1974. Jay divorced in 1980 and was re-married to his late wife Joann Hewuse in 1989. Jay loved a lot of things in his life, most notably his family and friends, his dog Mojo, nature, his apple orchard, hunting, fishing, playing cards, working as a Master Electrician with the IBEW Local 158 of Green Bay WI and Sudoku. Later in life, on most weekends you would find him tending to the cleaning and organizing at his antique shop while listening to the Badgers, Brewers or Packers. He loved the interaction with the people that he had a chance to visit with. Another of his passions was his annual fishing trips to Canada with his family and best friend Al Holt , Jay started making trips to Ontario after reading an article in Outdoor Life magazine and never missed a year starting in 1965. Son of the late Bert and Grace Blomquist, Jay is survived by Kathleen Blomquist and her partner Breanna Mason of Chaska MN; Dean Blomquist and his wife Janelle of Hammond WI; Daniel Blomquist his wife Amy of Cedar Rapids IA; LeeAnn Hewuse, Kewaunee; Barbara Gueths, Kewaunee; Helen Hewuse, DePere; Joan and her husband Brian Lachman, Kenosha WI; Lonnie Hewuse, Kewaunee; seven additional grandchildren: Leroy Hewuse II, Roselyn Hewuse; Richard Osmunson II; Nicole and Rachel Lachman; Christopher Hewuse and Grace Blomquist . Three Great Grandchildren: Caleb and Heather Nemeth and Lillian Pearl Lachman. He was preceded in death by his wife Joann; daughter Victoria Hewuse; granddaughter: Heather Hewuse and his brother Neal Blomquist. Friends may call after 10:00 am Saturday, September 10 at Jay's home church; St. John's Lutheran Church, E5221 Church Road, Algoma WI 54201, until the time of service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Borgholm Cemetery in Bock MN at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, E5221 Church Road, Algoma WI 54201.
