Janet Viola (Haucke) Vania

Janet Vania, 85, Algoma, passed away, Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Bellin Hospital.  She was born July 8, 1938, in Algoma to Fred and Viola (Gaulke) Haucke.
Janet was a graduate of the Algoma High School in 1956.
Janet married Lloyd Vania, May 23, 1968, in Algoma and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2005.
She was a bank teller for many years at Community State Bank, F & M Bank and finally Citizens Bank in Algoma.  She was on the committee for her class reunions, a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.  Janet was a volunteer for the Algoma Visitors Center for many years.  
Janet enjoyed watching TV, reading mystery books and putting together puzzles.
Janet is survived by her three children, Landon Corbisier, Kathy (Wayne) Minten and Nancy Vania; five grandchildren, Rachel Schinktgen, Robert Minten, Sarah (Trey) Smith, Christopher Corbisier and MacKenzie Christensen; five great grandchildren Bethany, Evelyn, Jemma, Lennon and Preston; sister Carol Clark, brother-in-law John (Patricia) Vania and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd, sister Florence (Wallace) Simonar, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Gloria (Jack) March, Gladys (Melvin) Krueger, Mae (Rick) Dreier, Donna (Ernie) Walker, Edward Clark, James (Marie) Vania, and Raymond (Carol) Vania.
Friends may call at the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, Friday, November 10, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, visitation continuing, Saturday, November 11, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Moll and Rev. Joel McKenney officiating.  Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma.
