James Joseph Kanka

James J. (Fuzzy) Kanka, 67, Algoma, died Wed. Dec. 3, 2014 at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit. he was born Oct. 27, 1947 in Michigan to Joseph and Elizabeth Kanka. James married Sandra Hegnet in Sturgeon Bay on July 19, 1974. She preceded him in death on May 22, 2011. James enjoyed spending time with his children Brian, Lisa and Lisa's fiance'. He also enjoyed going to the races with his daughter and riding his scooter.He is survived by his mother Elizabeth Kanka, Traverse City, MI; sister Mary Jo Waldron, Cadillac, MI; son Brian Kanka, Algoma; daughter Linsa Kanka (finace' Craig Ireland), Algoma; mother-in-law Violet Hegnet, Algoma, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-lw and caregiver Mary Jo Mattice. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Jimmy and father Joseph.Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma from 9 am, Sat.
