Herbert "Herb" Zimmerman

Herbert (Herb) Zimmerman, 84, Algoma, passed away December 30, 2014. He was born May 8, 1930 in Algoma to Harvey and Mary (Romdenne) Zimmerman. Herb married Donna Mura on November 28, 1953.Herb was in the Army, attended college in Milwaukee, then returned to Algoma to work at the US Plywood until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of of St. Mary Parish, where he served on many committees and councils, including serving as a trustee. Herb loved to sing, performing in choirs and a barber shop quartet, as well as singing for weddings.His life revolved around his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.Herb is survived by his four children, Rock Zimmerman, Milwaukee; Ann Bennett, Algoma; Mike (Carol) Zimmerman, Green Bay; and Adam (Mary) Zimmerman, Green Bay; five grandchildren, Brooke (Aaron) Dollevoet, Kristina (Gary) Gast, Alex Zimmerman and friend Arianna, Ethan Zimmerman and Roman Zimmerman; three great grandchildren, Riley and Emmalyn Dollevoet, and Logan Gast; three sisters Germaine Entringer, Myra Michaletz and LeVerle Koenig; many nieces and nephews and in-laws.He joins many loved ones who preceded him in death, including his wife, Donna.Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 4 - 8 p.m., Friday, Jan 2, 2015 and after 10 a.m., Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron and Deacon Chuck Agnew officiating.
