Herbert Wehausen Obituary

Herbert H. Wehausen (97) passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at home. He was born February 3, 1919 to Herman and Mary (Long) Wehausen. Herbert married Loretta Entringer on August 23, 1947 and celebrated 69 years of marriage this year.He was drafted into the Army in 1942 with the 106th Infantry at Fort Sill, OK. During the Battle of the Bulge he was wounded and captured for which he earned a purple heart. In March of 1945 he was liberated by American troops. When he returned to the States, he was employed by Wisconsin Public Service as a lineman and retired from there after 35 years.Herbert was a simple man that enjoyed farming, riding his John Deere tractor and cheering on the Packer's for many years. He especially enjoyed socializing with friends and family, sharing stories and laughs with whomever would stop by.He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Dennis, sisters Marie and Florence, brothers William and Alvin, sister-in-laws Kay and Shirley, grandchildren Katie Wehausen and Nathan Bouche, step-grandchild GlenHe is survived by his brothers John and Oscar; his children Ron (Elaine), Jim (Linda), Mary (Dale) Dumman, Cheryl (Tony) Bouche, Lori (Jim) Marin, Bob (Roxanne) and Brian (Bonnie); grandchildren Nichole, Matthew, Michelle, Chelsea, Trevor, Hanna, Jenna, Emily, Heidi, Andrew and Taylor; stepchildren Tracy, Michael, David, and Lisa and great grandchildren Ethan, Emerson, Josie, and Austyn.Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Algoma from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a mass of Christian burial at11:00 o'clock. Full Military Honors at graveside.In lieu of flowers and plants, a memorial fund will be established.Herb's family would like to thank Dr. Kroll: Mary and Jenny of OSMS, the Algoma Rescue Squad and Police Department and to Bellin Hospital - especially Kathleen for her exceptional comfort and care during this difficult time.The SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, assisted the family with arrangementsFamily and friends may sign the online guest book at www.schinderle.com
