Helene Elsie Gunnlaugsson

Helene E. Gunnlaugsson, 98, Oconomowoc, formerly of Algoma, found her peace and reunited with her late husband Harvey, of 51 years on Monday Nov. 4, 2013. She was born Feb. 11, 1915 in Milwaukee to Eduard and Rosaline (Luebke) Loehndorf. After her marriage to Harvey Gunnlaugsson the couple moved to Algoma in 1946. They moved to Washington Island for a few years and then moved back to Algoma in 1952 where they lived until Harvey passed away in 1992. Helene then moved down by her son in the Milwaukee area. Helene is survived by her daughter, Sally Torke and her son Gordon (Grace), three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, one daughter Joanne and two brothers Edward and William. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Helene at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Rankin on Thurs. November 7, 2013 at 2 PM with Rev. Carl Brewer. The SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma assisted the family.
