Helen Jorgenson

Helen Jorgenson, 86 of Algoma passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016at Bay Road Place CBRF in Algoma. Helen was born October 7, 1929 in Fish Creek to the late Otto and Martha (Gerschner) Uhlemann. She graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1947, and from Door-Kewaunee Normal School (Teachers College) in 1949. She taught grades one through four for one year in Egg Harbor.While attending Normal School, Helen met John (Jack) Jorgenson. They were married on June 10, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in BaileysHarbor, and were married for 63 years.Helen was employed at the Algoma Hardwoods ( U.S.Plywood) from 1966until her retirement in 1991.She enjoyed being with her family, and close friends, reading, and especially sitting on the deck with Jack watching the lake and the wild life on their property.She is survived by her four sons and their wives Larry (Carolyn) JorgensonLee (Julie) Jorgenson, Terry (Deanna) Jorgenson, Tony (Carla) Jorgenson. Her grandchildren Andy (Marcy) Jorgenson, Mike (Toni) Jorgenson, Taylor(Sarah) Jorgenson, Cameron (Jessie) Jorgenson, Jonathan Jorgenson, TanikaJorgenson (special friend Jose Hernandez), Danielle and Talia Jorgenson,step granddaughter Amy (Chad) Blahnik. Great-grandchildren ClayJorgenson, Carmen Jorgenson, Garret and Kendra Jorgenson, CristianoHernandez, step great-grandchildren Izaiah, Xzavier, Elijah Blahnik. Alsoa sister, Doris Parent, nieces and nephews.Helen was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Jack in 2013, and her sisters & brother-in-laws Alice (Martin) Kipp, Ruby (Freemen) Schultz,Christa (Albert) Prust, her father-in-law Virgil, and mother(s) in-law Hilda (Marquardt) Jorgenson, and Vivian (Pierquet) Jorgenson.Visitation will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Algoma on Thursday April 14, 2016 from 9 am until the time of service at 11 am with PastorTom Moldenhauer officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
