Harold E. Wessel, 87, Algoma, died Sunday Aug. 28, 2011 at Century Ridge - Assisted Living in Green Bay where he was lovingly care for during his long illness. He was born November 8, 1923 in Door County to Harley and Ethel (Blish) Wessel. Harold enlisted in the Army on Dec. 7, 1949 and was a member of the Military Police. After being honorably discharged May 23, 1951 he moved to Milwaukee when he worked for the Rexnord Co. until he retired. Then he built a home in Algoma where he resided for 20 plus years. Harold enjoyed fishing and walking on the Ahnapee Trail. He is survived by one sister Lorraine (Stuart) Storm, Algoma; and one brother Donald (Lorraine) Wessel, Kewaunee; numerous nieces and nephews. he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Virginia Hansen and Bernice (Bon) (Elmer) Geiger. Family and friends may gather at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 until the time of services at 6 p.m. with Rev. John Moll officiating.
