Frederick 'Fred' E. Waterstreet, 86, Algoma, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Bellinhealth. He was born October 9, 1926 in rural Algoma, son of Emil and Johanna (Hoffman) Waterstreet . Fred married Norma Nelson on August 26, 1950. Fred was a graduate from the Casco High School and was a World War II veteran serving in the US Navy as a radar man 3rd Class on the SST 980 submarine chaser. He was a life long member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. After his discharge he came back to Algoma where he worked at the Algoma Hardwoods and Hamilton Manufacturing. Fred retired in 1992. Fred enjoyed the times he spent with his family. He had unconditional love for his family, friends and neighbors. Fred loved the outdoors and always had a huge garden and flower bed. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with the grandchildren. He enjoyed time with his springier spaniels 'Dutches and Dutches II. He also was an avid card player. Fred is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma; two sons Dale Waterstreet, Madison; Steven (Mary) Waterstreet, Appleton; seven grandchildren Ryan (April) Waterstreet, Appleton; Michael Waterstreet, Oshkosh; Joseph Waterstreet, Madison; Holly Waterstreet (fianc' Nick), Neenah; Jackie (Tony) Jansch, Kaukauna; Rusty (Terri) Lison, Greenville; and Diana Lison, Menasha; two great grandchildren Aedan and Payton Waterstreet. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and sisters-in-law Emil (Ethel) and Edmund (Emma). Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 4 - 8 PM, Friday, August 16, 2013 and after 10 AM, Saturday, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rankin until the time of services at 11 AM with Rev. Thomas R. Zehnder officiating. American Legion and VFW services at 6 PM. Friday at the funeral home and Prayer service at 7 PM. Burial in the church cemetery with full military rites.
