Francis Pierre Obituary

Francis G. Pierre, 76, of Algoma, peacefully passed to eternal life surrounded by loved ones late afternoon on December 21, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Francis was born on August 19, 1937 in Brussels Wisconsin, to the late Clarence and Anna Pierre. He graduated from Brussels High School in1956 where he was part of the Brussels Broncos basketball team. On May 7, t960 he married Beverly Annoye at St. Peter's Church in Lincoln Wisconsin. They lived in the city of Algoma for 52 years and had five children together. During those years he worked at Katch's grocery store, Algoma Hardwoods, he was a long time employee of Peterson Builders incorporated and he retired in 2000 from Palmer Johnson's Yachts. With his wife, family and friends he enjoyed camping and traveling. Francis also enjoyed playing dart ball for many years where he was known as 'Chico'; He also loved playing cards with his friends,was on the 'Old Timer's' baseball team and most recently during retirement played pool at the Algoma Youth Club and enjoyed having breakfast with his friends. His greatest enjoyment in life was watching his children and grandchildren play sports, especially basketball. This past year his dream was fulfilled when two of his granddaughters were on the girls basketball and softball state championship teams. He was a die hard Packer fan and enjoyed the many family Packer Parties when he wasn't attending games at Lambeau Field. Francis was also a dedicated usher at St. Mary's Parish in Algoma for many years as well as a member of the St. Mary Men's Club. Francis will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 53 years Beverly and his five children, Lori (Randy Wendricks, Howard; Lisa (Marc) Mraz, Forestville; Linda (Mike) Delorit, Algoma; Kevin (Kristine) Pierre, Algoma; and Kellie Derenne, Green Bay; 15 grandchildren, Brandon (Gina) Wendricks, Rochelle (Rick) DeJardin, Cody and Alexis Mraz, Brittanie, Trent, and Baleigh Delorit, Linsey, Emily and Ryan Pierre, and Shane Andrews, Joey, Bryce, Collin and Connor Derenne and two great grandchildren, Adeline Wendricks and Braxley DeJardin. Francis is further survived by his sister Marijo (Terry) Mueller, and sister-in-laws Loretta, Helen, Ruth, and Martha Annoye and brother-in-law Roland (Grace)Annoye, as well as his godchildren Scott Prokash and Vickie Dart and many nieces and nephews. Francis was preceded in death by his granddaughter Paige Derenne; his parents Clarence and Anna Pierre, mother and father-in-law Alex and Victoria Annoye and in-laws Lorraine (Harold) DeGuelle, Vincent, Harry, Elmer, and Stanley Annoye. Visitation for Francis will be held on Thursday December 26, 2013 from 4 - 8 PM at Schinderle Funeral Home Algoma with prayer service at 7 PM. Visitation will continue at St. Mary Church, Algoma, Friday, December 27 from 10 - 11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fuchs, Dr. Swift, Dr. James, special RN Sadie and all of Bellin Health Care.
