Eugene Paul Richter

Eugene (Gene) Paul Richter, 82, Algoma, passed away Tues. Feb. 25, 2014 at St. Vincent's Hospital. He was born Jan. 12, 1932 in Sheboygan to Otto and Edna (Rickert) Richter. Gene met and married the love of his life 60 years ago, Delores Natzke Oct. 24, 1953.Gene served in the US Army from Feb. 1951 to may 1952. He was a member of the American legion Post 21 in Kenosha, WI and also Post 236 in Algoma where he served on the Military Honors Squad for many years.He enjoyed his time he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and his great granddaughter. He also enjoyed hunting, watching birds and gardening. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Algoma. Gene is survived by his wife Delores, two children Terry (Cindy) Richter and Sherry (Stephen) Thompson; three grandchildren Eric (Shanna), Sean (Ashley) and Beth Richter; one great granddaughter Mckenzie, two sisters Dorothy Wergin and Judy (Don) Zimmerman; two brothers Jack (Sharon) Richter and Robert (Karen) Richter; and his Best Friend 'Peppy'. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Doris Spender and one brother Otto Richter. Family and friends may call at St. Pauls' Lutheran Church, Algoma, from 9:30 am, Saturday march 1, 2014 until the time of services at 11 am with Rev. Tom Moldenhaurer and Rev. John Moll officiating.
