Ethel Beach Obituary

Ethel (DeMeuse) Beach, 93, Algoma, died Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Kewaunee Care Center. She was born February 7, 1920 in Algoma to George and Adeline (Zirbel) DeMeuse. Ethel graduated from St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School in 1933 and then from the Algoma High School in 1937. Ethel worked at Beach's Store in Algoma from 1939 to 1967. She then moved out to Redwood City, CA and married Ray Beach on Aug. 30, 1970. Ethel worked for the Newberry Corp. for 15 years. She worked at various places after Newberry Corp. in Ca. before moving back to Algoma in 1994. Ethel worked at von Stiehl Winery Gift Haus from 1994 to 1999 and Walter's How-To from 1999 to 2000. Ethel is survived by her four stepchildren Robert Beach and his partner Helen, Rose (Tim) Dembosz, Helen (Dickie) Stygles and Donna Langdell and her partner Charlie; six grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two brothers Gilbert (Joan) DeMeuse and Don (Gail) DeMeuse; three sisters Lyla Wolf, Pearl Krause and Jane (Gregg) Jenerjohn; many nieces and nephews and special family friends Judy and Jim Wolske and their family. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, four brothers Orville, Jerry, Lee and Raymond, one sister and brother-in-law Ruth (Howard) Haucke and two other brothers-in-law Ray Wolf and Clinton Krause. Family and friends may call at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma from 9 AM Tuesday, Sept. 24th until the time of services at 11 AM with Rev. Tom Moldenhauer officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Unity Hospice, Dr. Thomas Zenner, Linden Manor the Kewaunee Care Center and all the ministers for all their compassion, kindness and care that was given to Ethel during her stay at each place.
