Estelle Richmond

Estelle Gloria (Torstenson) Richmond, 80, Algoma, died at home on Oct. 6, 2016 with her loving husband and daughters at her side. She was born Dec. 11, 1935 to Alta and Orlando Torstenson. She graduated from the Sturgeon Bay High School and on May 23, 1953 she married Wayne Richmond in Algoma.Throughout her life, Stella was a wonderful, caring mother to four daughters. She worked as a bookkeeper early in life, but by far enjoyed the time she spent at the Ceramic Shoppe in Algoma. Stella loved helping kids with 4-H projects and teaching customers how to do the many special techniques she mastered. Frequent trips to the casinos with her husband also gave her much joy.Estelle is survived by Wayne, her husband of 63 years. Together they were blessed with four daughters; Debra (Gary) Richmond-Rockwood, Eau Claire; Virginia (John) Haske, Algoma; Cindy (John) Wojtczak, New Franken; and Wanda (Lew) DuChateau, Luxemburg. She is further mourned by her eight grandchildren, Heather, Angela, Tanya, Jessica, Ryan, Jordan, Jason and Tyler along with 17 great grandchildren, one brother Robert (Betty) Torstenson, sisters-in-law Shirley Eckstein and Janet Torstenson and one brother-in-law Neil (Barbara) Richmond.Estelle was preceded in death by her parents and one older brother.The family is following Estelle's wishes and having a private family service.The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Unity Hospice, with special thank you to Heather, Jenny and Wendy.Send your online condolences to www.schinderle.comThe SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, assisted the family with the services.
