Emily Mary Laurent

Emily Laurent, 99, this wonderful woman became an angel this morning, Dec. 29, 2015 from Algoma. She was born in the Township of Lincoln on Feb. 23, 1916 to John and Mary Dhuey. Emily married Alois Laurent Nov. 17, 1938. Emily was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to sew, play cards, gardening and hand stitching. Emily and Alois would spent the winters in Arizonia for many years, where they loved to play golf, Emily got a hole-in-one in Arizonia. Emily will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandson and one great-great grandchild. Emily is survived by her three children Jan (Steve) Langlais, Algoma; two sons Gene (Barb) Laurent, Wausau; and Dan (Karon) Laurent, Lakewood, WI; seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother Russel (Mercedes) Dhuey; one sister Carol DeVillers and two sisters-in-law Dorothy Dhuey and Elaine Laurent; many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alois, three brothers Harold, Jim and Goldie and one sister Loretta.Friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, Luxemburg, Thurs. Dec. 31, 2015 fromo 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Rev. Milton Suess officiating.
