Don Edward Fitzgerald

Don E. Fitzgerald, 61, Algoma, passed away very unexpectedly at home on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015.He was born Feb. 17, 1954 to the late Donald Fitzgerald Sr. and Florence Lucas in Illinois. He attended Northern Illinois University and worked most of his adult life in the Banking Institutions. In 1993 he moved up to Algoma where he worked as a Financial Planner for Bank Mutual Financial for the last eight years.Don's family was the most important thing in his life, but he also loved fishing and camping. Don is survived by his partner Derin Bjugstad, Algoma; his siblings Sue (Carl) Schmidt, Lorraine (Rich) Heintz, Steve (Vicki) Fitzgerald all of Illinois and Dori Ziegler, Algoma; three nieces and three nephews Sarah, Katie and Becky Schmidt, Richie Heintz, Zachary Fitzgerald and Bradley Ziegler. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew Eric Fitzgerald.Family and friends may gather at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 3 - 7 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015.
