Daniel "Dan" Harold Polecheck

     Daniel "Dan" Polecheck, 73, Algoma, passed away, Friday, April 21, 2023, at Azura Memory Care in Manitowoc.  He was born March 15, 1950, in Sturgeon Bay to Harold and Virginia (Tebon) Polecheck.

     Dan grew up in Little Sturgeon and graduated from the Southern Door High School in 1968. 
 
     Dan married Marge McGinnis on November 6, 1971, at Corpus Christi Church in Sturgeon Bay.

     Dan entered the US Navy in 1970 and was stationed at the Great Lakes, Georgia and Hawaii.  While stationed in Hawaii he was on the ship for six-month deployments at a time.  After his discharge moved to Sturgeon Bay were he worked as a electronic equipment tester for Supervisor of the Ship Building Company for 15 years.  During his time at Supervisor, he and his wife, Marge owned and operated the Hill Top Restaurant for 10 years.  After that he sold insurance for a number of different companies for about eight years.  Dan retired a number of years ago and was enjoying life.

     He is survived by his wife, Marge, daughter Erika (Larry) Graham, Alabama; and son Jason Polecheck (significant other Jenny), CA; four grandsons Lucas and Logan Graham and Izaak and Oscar Polecheck; sister Germaine Doell, brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

     Dan was preceded in death by his parents, sister June Kramer and brother-in-law Myron Doell.

     Dan's wishes were not to have any public service.

The family wants to give a special thank you to Sycamore Lodge, Azura Memory Care Facility and Asera Care Hospice for all the care and kindness given to Dan.

     The Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, was entrusted in helping the family with arrangements for Daniel Polecheck.
