Cindi L. Benson 66, Sturgeon Bay, passed away Sunday Jan. 12, 2014 at Golden Living Center - Dorchester. in Sturgeon Bay. She was born Nov. 17, 1947 to Edward Sr. and Myrtle (Albertson) Appel in Algoma.Cindi married William Benson May 18, 1968 in Two Rivers. Then they moved to Algoma.Cindi enjoyed shooting pool in her younger years, pencil sketching and doing counted cross stitching. Cindi always enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Cindi retired after 25 years as the office manager for Dr. Joan Traver in Sister Bay.Cindi is survived by her two sons Robert L. (Rebecca) Benson, Sturgeon Bay; and Eric Benson (Fiancee' Jenni Davis), Green Bay; two grandchildren Kesha and Zachary Benson and two great grandchildren Hannah and Sophie Benson; her siblings Bill (Cheryl) Appel, Sister Bay; Bette Phillips, Green Bay; Robert (Joan) Appel, Ellison Bay; Edward Jr. (Holly) Appel, Virginia; Tina Appel, Algoma; and IdaKay (Greg) Orsted, Baileys Harbor; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, sister Sandra Schmidt, an infant sister Anne Marie and one brother-in-law Robert Phillips.A Celebration of Cindi's life will take place May 31, 2014 at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall after a graveside service at 11: a.m. at the Baileys Harbor CemeteryFamily and friends may sign the online guest book at www.schinderle.comThe SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME assisted the family with arrangements.
