Carol Karnitz Obituary

Carol June Karnitz, 90, Algoma, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, Saturday, December 2, 2023.  She was born June 11, 1933, in Wrightstown, WI., to Gerhardt and Esther (Laabs) Koehler.

Her family moved up to this area, and she graduated from the Brussels High School.

She married Clifford Karnitz July 3, 1954, at Emanuel Lutheran church, Kolberg.

Carol always enjoyed her precious time spent with family.

Carol is survived by her husband Clifford, one daughter Vicki (Steve) Karnitz, and one son Dan (Janna) Karnitz; three grandchildren Zachary (Amanda) LeDocq and Bennett & Levi Karnitz; three great grandchildren Payton, Addilyn and Brexlee LeDocq; one step grandson Travis; Special to Carol her ex-son-in-law Randy (Sheila) LeDocq; one brother-in-law Ken Karnitz.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Betty (Ralph) Miller, several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nephews.

Family and friends may gather at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 9:30 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joel McKenney and Rev. John Moll officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery.

In the battle with the "C" for 8 plus years, the road got bumpy, the path got narrow, and I had to give up the fight.  I want to give a special thank you to Pastor Moll and Pastor McKenney for all the prayers and visits.  Thank you to the Bellin crew, especially Dean at Palliative Care and Unity Hospice, (Heather, Amy and Jenn).  Thank you to Jim and Jeff Rabas at Algoma Motors for allowing my family to be with me for all the support.

Go on with your life and as the sun sets today forget your sorrows.  I am at Peace!  Heaven is my home!
