Arwed E. Schley, 87, Sturgeon Bay, passed away on August 28, 2013 from complications of Alzheimer's. He was born on August 6, 1926 to Frank and Bertha (Wessel) Schley in Forestville. On September 6, 1952 Arwed married Alice Valley. Arwed served in the Army during WWII. He was a farmer his entire life and also a bus driver for Southern Door Schools for many years. He worked for Hafeman Enterprises. His most beloved job was helping on the Ronnie and Ginger Clark farm. Survivors include his wife Alice of 61 years. Daughter Gail and son Dale (Kathy) Schley all of Sturgeon Bay. He is survived by two grandchildren Kaylyn (Dustin) Ackerman and Ryan Schley, one great grandson Benjamin Ackerman, one brother Myrton (Violet) Schley and one sister-in-law Arlene Lenius. He is proceded in death by two sisters Leona (Ruben) Schmeling and Irene (Lawrence) Schubert and his brother Arnold. Friends may call at Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday Aug. 29, 2013 and then after 10 AM Friday, Aug 30 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Forestville until the time of services at 11 AM with Rev. Thomas R. Zehnder officiating. Prayer service 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in the church cemetery. The family wants to thank Whispering Pines, Anna's Healthcare, Door County Hospital and Golden Living-Dorchester for all the care and kindness given to Arwed and his family.
