Arnold Albrecht Obituary

Arnold 'Arnie' Albrecht, Algoma, died May 4, 2016 at the Atrium Post Acute Care, Kewaunee with his wife at his side. He was born Oct. 21, 1926 in Gregorville, WI to Joseph and Helen (Steiner) Albrecht. Arnie graduated from the Algoma High School in 1944. He entered the US Air Force and served during WWII as a simulator training commander. After his discharge he came back to the Algoma area where he farmed with his dad until he began working at the Algoma Plywood where he worked for 22 years. After that he worked at Peterson Builders and retired from there in 1991. Arnie married Jeanne Wautlet April 21, 1951 in Algoma. Arnie and Jeanne would golf everyday out at Alaska Golf Course. Arnie also enjoyed hunting and trapping, fishing, his bus trips to the casino's, he was an avid Packer fan, watching golf on TV, and in his younger days playing Sheepshead. Arnie is survived by his wife Jeanne of 65 years, his three children, Russ (Theresa) Albrecht, Nancy (Dave) Varga and Peggy (Scott) Charles; seven grandchildren Abby (Steve) Benzschwel, Cassie Varga, Jessica (Jon) Reinhardt, Kristine Albrecht, Joey Albrecht, and Andrew and Jack Charles; five great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Helen; one great grandson Zander, in-laws Gilbert and Irene Wautlet and brother-in-law Don Wautlet.Friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 4 - 8 PM, Sunday May 8, 2016 and after 10 AM Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Rev. Ron Colombo and Deacon Chuck Agnew officiating. Prayer service 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastoral Minister Kathy Zeman. Entombment at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.The Albrecht family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at St. Vincent Hospital and Atrium Post Acute Care for all the kindness given to Arnie during his stay.Send your condolences to www.schinderle.com
